After acknowledging the criteria that the source software should abide by in order to be distributed, you will explore the role of Open Source in the Federal Government and Critical Infrastructure and learn the reasons behind companies and governments turning to Open Source.
Finally, the module will allow you to recognize how business with Open Source can be sustainable by going over Copyright, Licensing and Intellectual Property (IP) concepts and understand what is Open License and its types.In this module, you will explore public goods and delve into DPG or digital public goods' concept origination, and definition as per the UN Secretary General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. You will also learn to differentiate between public and private goods and determine if they are digital or not through practical examples.
Additionally, you will explore The DPG Standard that sets the basic requirements needed for a digital solution to be recognized as a "DPG".
Finally, the module will introduce the DPGA (Digital Public Goods Alliance) and emphasize the importance and benefits of digital public goods.
